Speaker of the National Assembly attends summit in Belgium.
The President of the National Assembly (AN), Carolina Cerqueira, is in Brussels to participate, from 7 to 8 June, in the Women Political Leaders (WPL) Forum, an entity that intends to contribute to increase the number and influence of women in political leadership positions.
The Forum, which celebrates 10 years of existence, is a space for sharing experiences between women leaders from around the world.
The event, analyses the current advances and challenges regarding the strengthening, equity as well as opportunities for women at a global level and within this framework, will feature speakers from various parts of the world, as well as panel discussions to demonstrate the increasing impact of women in World Politics leadership.
Prior to the Forum and at the initiative of the Embassy, the President of the National Assembly (AN) has an agenda with different courtesy meetings indicated for June 6, highlighting the working and courtesy meetings with the Vice-President of the European Parliament, Marc Angel, also with, Carlos Zurrinho, Co-President of the ACP - European Union Joint Parliamentary Assembly.
Also on day 6, the President of the National Assembly, held a courtesy meeting with the Secretary General of the EACP, with whom, tackled issues related to the 63rd parliamentary session of the EACP and the 43rd session of the Joint Parliamentary Assembly, ACP-EU.
Carolina Cerqueira (Banga, 20 October 1956) is an Angolan lawyer, journalist, diplomat and politician. She has been President of the National Assembly of Angola since September 16, 2022.
Angolan Alcinda Pereira first woman to lead AfBAA
Alcinda Pereira, co-founder of Bestfly Angola, has become the first woman to lead the African Business Aviation Association (AfBAA), taking over as president in AfBAA's history, elected during an EBACE meeting held in Geneva in early June.
