Angolan diplomat Maria Filomena Delgado presented, on Tuesday, to the President of the Swiss Confederation, Alain Berset, the Credentials that accredit her as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Angola in that country.
During the short audience in Bern, the diplomat shared with President Berset "important information about the political and socio-economic transformations underway in Angola," said a statement from the Angolan Embassy in Switzerland.
On the occasion, Delgado expressed her desire to see friendship and multifaceted cooperation relations between the two countries grow.
The political and diplomatic relations and cooperation between Angola and Switzerland date back to 1975.
The cooperation was translated, fundamentally, in humanitarian actions, such as demining and construction of the Catofe Agrarian Technical School, located in Quibala municipality, Kwanza Sul province.
The two states have established a political consultation process at diplomatic level, which is a useful mechanism to promote bilateral dialogue between them.

In the medium-long term, ECCAS fights for the improvement of land connections between the countries that make up the group, as there is an awareness that mobility is one of its weakest links as an economic bloc.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Téte António, who attended the meeting in the presence of the Head of State, João Lourenço, was accompanied by the director for Africa, the Middle East and Regional Organizations, Miguel Bembe, the Angolan ambassador to Gabon and the permanent representative with ECCAS, Lizeth Satumbo Pena, with the ambassador of Angola in Ethiopia and with the African Union and with the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, Francisco da Cruz, and with the ambassador of Angola in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Miguel Costa.

ECCAS mobilizes all its resources and energy to make Central Africa a region of peace, prosperity and solidarity based on a unified economic and political space. The organization covers all the activities of public institutions, private companies, civil society and the region's populations in a dynamic and integrated perspective based on five pillars: peace and security; common market; environment and natural resources; land use planning and infrastructure; gender and human development.

Thus, economic growth, social well-being and the preservation of nature are built through the regional integration that ECCAS develops among the 11 Member States.
